Free Online Lotería Caller

Updated October 2026

Cantala is a free lotería caller that runs in your browser: it shuffles the 54 cards and calls each one aloud in Spanish, with a recorded voice and its traditional verse, while everyone marks their board. No app, no sign-up, on any phone, tablet or computer.

How it works

  1. Pick a caller

Open cantala.net on one phone in Cantador (caller) mode. Choose the deck —there are 14 art styles— the voice and the speed.

  2. Hand out the boards

Tap Invitar (invite) to send a link that opens a board on each player’s phone, or print unique boards as a PDF.

  3. Agree on the pattern

Four in a row (chorro), four corners, the center four (centrito) or a full board (llena).

  4. Play

The caller deals by itself, or you swipe to the next card. The first to complete the pattern shouts ¡Lotería!, and the caller checks the history of cards already drawn.

In the same room, put the caller phone in the middle of the table. Far apart, start a video call —Zoom, Meet, FaceTime or WhatsApp— and share the caller: keep the phone near the microphone, or share your screen with sound so everyone sees the card. Use the slow or medium speed, since calls lag a second or two. More tips (in Spanish) in lotería online con amigos.

For Spanish class

Lotería is vocabulary practice disguised as a game. Put the caller on the projector and choose the Maestra voice, which says each name plainly and clearly, or Cantor con coplas at the slow speed to hear each verse. The tabla generator prints one different board per student, with 3×3 boards for little ones, and the 54 cards as a printable PDF. For Día de Muertos there is a Day of the Dead lotería with its own 54 cards —La Catrina, Pan de Muerto, Cempasúchil— ready to print.

FAQ

Is the lotería caller free?

Yes. Cantala is free, with no sign-up, no app to install and no ads in the game. It runs in the browser of any phone, tablet or computer.

Does it call the cards in Spanish?

Yes, the way lotería is played in Mexico. Each card is sung by a recorded voice, and with the Cantor con coplas voice at the slow speed you also hear its traditional verse (copla). The card names in English are listed on this page.

Can I play lotería online with friends?

Yes. One phone is the caller and everyone else opens a board (tabla) on their own phone with the Invitar (invite) button. Far apart, share the caller on a video call. There are 54 numbered boards, so nobody has to repeat one.

Can I use it in my Spanish class?

Yes. Put the caller on the projector, pick the Maestra (teacher) voice, which says each name plainly and clearly, and print a unique board for every student with the tabla generator, including 3×3 boards for young kids.

How many cards are in lotería?

54, from El Gallo (The Rooster) to La Rana (The Frog). A standard board has 16 of them in a 4×4 grid.
